News Death Notice

SHUTTLEWORTH, Jerry Eugene 78, of Springfield, passed away peacefully in his home, surrounded by his family, Sunday, December 9, 2012. He was born in Springfield on March 27, 1934, the son of the late Ralph E. and Helen (McLain) Taylor. Jerry was a 1952 graduate of Springfield High School. He served his country in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War aboard the aircraft carrier U.S.S. Wasp. He retired as the Clark County Auditor following a 35 year career in public service. He was the charter president of the Springfield Breakfast Lions Club, was a member of St. Andrews Lodge #619 F. & A.M., and served on the Glen Haven Advisory Board. Jerry is survived by his wife of 36 years, Ann (McCleary) Shuttleworth; daughters, Lori L. Wolcott of South Charleston and Heidi R. (Runyan) Jacobs of Springfield; son, Gregory P. Shuttleworth and his fiance', Kim Foster of Springfield; step-sons, Eric D. (Tiana) Marratta of Texas and Joel A. Marratta of Springfield; a sister, Joanne (Dearl) Rowe of Springfield; grandchildren, Aubrey (Jack) Jones, Hayley Whipp, Stephanie, Sean and Madison Shuttleworth, Taylor Riebel, Jeremy, Abbie, and Hannah Runyan, Bryce and Erin Marratta, Atlanta Bain, and Paige Marratta; and great grandchildren, Jacob, Olivia, Augustus, and Sagan. A gathering of family and friends will be held from 5-8 p.m. Thursday in the LITTLETON & RUE FUNERAL HOME. Masonic services will be held at 8:00 p.m. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday in the chapel of Glen Haven Memorial Gardens with Chaplain Bruce Heckman officiating. Burial with military honors will follow at graveside.
