John Harris WOODRUFF Sr.


News Death Notice

WOODRUFF, Sr. John Harris 72, of Springfield passed away Saturday, August 24, 2013 in Miami Valley Hospital. He was born May 1, 1941 in Springfield, the son of Floyd and Ruth (Stroud) Woodruff. John honorably served his country in the US Army during the Korean War. He retired from Robinson Insulation. He was a member of the United Pentecostal Church of God and he enjoyed fishing and music. Survivors include children, Nicholas W. Cavins, Mary A. (Marshall) Hayes, and John H. (Gina) Woodruff, Jr., all of Springfield; grandchildren, Nathan Cavins, Miranda Cavins, Garet Cavins, Sarah Ruf, Matt Hayes, Cheyene Woodruff, Danielle Frazier, Kaleb Camp, and Erin Camp; sister, Joan (Norman) Roysdon of Springfield, and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife, Connie M. (Johnson) Woodruff on August 14, 2012; three sisters, Jean Wise, Mary Camp, and Rachael Smith; two brothers, Robert Woodruff and Tom Woodruff; and his parents. Visitation will be held from 5:00pm until 8:00pm Tuesday in the JONES-KENNEY-ZECHMAN FUNERAL HOME. Funeral services will be held at 10:30am Wednesday in the funeral home with Pastor Richard Blevins officiating. Burial, with military honors, will follow in Rose Hill Burial Park.
