News Death Notice

HIX, Maxwell 87, of Springfield passed away Friday, June 28, 2013 following a brief illness. He was born February 22, 1926 in London, Ohio the son of Oliver and Clara (Dodds) Hix. Mr. Hix served in the United States Army during the Korean War, was employed at Riverside Hospital in Columbus, and retired from Community Hospital with 32 years service. He attended Freedom Road Ministries with his daughter, Penny. Maxwell is survived by his daughter and son-in-law Penny and Clovis Littlejohn, with whom he resided; two stepchildren Elizabeth Harris, and Edward and Char Stoll of Springfield; one sister Mary McClain of Belton, Texas; four grandchildren Betsy Anderson of Pataskala, Ohio, Amanda Hix of Dayton, Pennyann and Robert Whittington of Tyler, Texas; three step grandchildren; numerous great grandchildren; niece Beverly McClain of Springfield; and nephew Eddie McClain of Belton, Texas. He was preceded in death by his father, Oliver; wife Rachel Hix on September 29, 2000; two brothers Clark Casto and Bob Bowls. Visitation will be Tuesday from 1-2 PM. in RICHARDS, RAFF & DUNBAR MEMORIAL HOME. The service to honor Maxwell's life will be Tuesday at 2:00 PM. in the Memorial Home with Pastor Jim Britton officiating. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery.
