News Death Notice

VERVILLE, Milton J. 94, of Maysville, Kentucky, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on Tuesday morning, February 18, 2014 in Oakwood Village, Springfield, Ohio where he resided the past five years. He was born on May 23, 1919 in Hancock, Michigan the son of Arch and Cora Lieblein Verville and a graduate of Michigan Tech. Milt served our country during World War II in the United States Navy as a Lieutenant Commander. He spent his career in Maysville working as a Civil Engineer and Architect in the family business Verville Construction and later in his own Civil Engineering consulting business. He was proud of being a commissioned Kentucky Colonel. He was a past member of the Maysville Utility Commission Board, Maysville Rotary Club, Lions Club and the Maysville Country Club. He always enjoyed a round of golf especially with family. Milt was fascinated with ships and was talented at meticulously building model ships, some of which are displayed in the Kentucky Gateway Museum Center, Maysville, KY. He was preceded in death by his wife, Dolores Bourgeois Verville in 1989, six brothers and three sisters. He is survived by his three daughters and sons-in-law: Lorann and Tom Rue of Springfield, OH, Betty and Bill Oliver, Gulf Shores, AL and Michelle and Joe Harpole, Columbia, TN; four grandchildren: Rob (Jenny) Rue, Nikki (Eric) Turner, Mary Ellen (Bill) Peden and Sommer Joy Harpole; eight great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. A private memorial service will be held at a later date.
