News Death Notice

MYERS, Norma Jean (Smith) 78, of Springfield, passed away on Saturday, March 29, 2014 in Villa of Springfield. She was born on August 13, 1935 in Springfield the daughter of the late Floyd and Laura (Martin) Smith. She graduated from Springfield High School in 1952. She spent 33 years working for Click Camera and was a loyal employee. Norma truly enjoyed her customers and everything about photography. She was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother and loved spending time with her family. She is survived by her husband of 61 years Lowell N. Myers of Springfield, three children: Lehan (Rick) Peters of Springfield, Sheila Christian of Westerville, and Kenneth (Melanie) Myers of Westerville; four grandchildren: Heather (Michael) Hall, Michael (Ashlie) Christian, Amanda (Brent) Barth, and Andrew Peters; great grandchildren: Mia Hall, JJ (Lester) Hall, and Conner Christian; sister, Nancy Hancock of Florida, brother, Leo (Ann) Smith of Champaign County, Ohio, special niece, Carol (Steve) Worley, special great nephew and niece, Zach and Megan Worley, great-great niece, Alyssa Worley, and several other nieces and nephews. She was also preceded in death by her two brothers, Richard and M. Douglas Smith. A memorial service celebrating her life will be held on Thursday, April 10th, at 1:00 p.m. in the LITTLETON & RUE FUNERAL HOME. The family will receive family and friends from 12-1:00 p.m. prior to the service. The family would like to thank the caregivers from Villa Springfield and Community Mercy Hospice for the compassion given to Norma.
