Norma Lee TATE

88, of Springfield went to be with the Lord on Monday, January 21, 2013 in the Springfield Regional Medical Center. She was born on Catlettsburg, KY on October 27, 1924, the daughter of Herbert and Mary Welch. Norma was a member of the Grace Missionary Baptist Church. She had worked at Fulmer's, United Borden Carton, but was well known for her Beeline Fashions. In her spare time she enjoyed playing cards, games, and loved to tell a joke. Norma was preceded in death by her parents, former husband George E. Tate, Sr., and a brother Joe O'Brien. Survivors include her daughters Sherrie (Boyd) McCarty of Urbana and Candy (Terry) Knapp; son George E Tate, Jr. both of Springfield; grandchildren Kimberly Massie, Dana Fazekas, Wilbur Massie, Terry Shawn Knapp, and Marcie; twelve great-grandchildren including Shelby and Sierra Knapp; two great-great grandchildren; and longtime friend Dottie Berry. Services to honor Norma will be Thursday, January 24.2013 at 1:00PM in the Grace Missionary Baptist Church with Rev. Orbie Estep officiating. A gathering will be one hour prior to services.
