News Death Notice

EVANS, Robert E. "Bob" 75, of South Vienna passed away peacefully Saturday, August 3, 2013 in the Springfield Regional Medical Center. He was born September 4, 1937 in Springfield, Ohio, the son of the late Roscoe and Helen (Hayman) Evans. He was a 1955 graduate from Northeastern High School. Bob was in the grocery business for his entire career. Bob was employed at Albers Grocery for several years and then manager at Pic N Pak and later retired from W.R. Hackett. He was an avid bowler all of his life. Bob was secretary of the Sunset League at Northridge Lanes for 32 years and on the Clark County Bowling Association Board for many years where he was past president and association manager for 11 years and CCBA Hall of Fame member. He was a huge Cincinnati Reds and Cincinnati Bengals fan. Bob was a member of the Eagles, Union Club and Buckeye Club. He will be sadly missed by all of his family and friends. Survivors include his beloved wife of 46 years, Linda M. (Williams) Evans; one brother, Don (Pat) Evans of Springfield; brother-in-law, Ronald (Mary Lou) Williams of Springfield; sister-in-law, Marianna Williams; six nieces and nephews, Lisa Jackman, Troy Evans, Cheryl Gram, David Williams, Tracey Williams and Kevin Williams and special friends, Steve Anderson, Ron McWilliams, Vickie Sibole and Jan Weller. A gathering of family and friends will be held on Tuesday, August 6, 2013 from 4-8 p.m. in the LITTLETON & RUE FUNERAL HOME. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday at 11 a.m. in the funeral home with Reverend James R. Chess officiating. Entombment will follow in the Rose Hill Mausoleum.
