News Death Notice

BOWMAN, Robert Franklin "Frank" 85, passed away Monday, September 16, 2013. He was born on February 29, 1928 to the late Ray and Mildred Bowman in Newark, OH. Frank worked as Golf Course Superintendent at Granville Inn & Golf Course for 22 years. He moved his family to Springfield in 1970 and worked as Golf Course Superintendent over Reid & Snyder Golf Course Parks and Recreation until his retirement in 1995. Frank's passion to work lead him to start his own business, Rainbow Lawn & Irrigation, which he ran for over 30 years. He also served his country as a paratrooper during the Korean Conflict. Frank is preceded in death by his wife, Meri, of over 64 years; and one brother, Bill Bowman. He is survived by his four children; Jane (Chuck) Adams, Vickie Bowman, Bob (Marion) Bowman, Mike (Mary) Bowman; nine grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, one sister, Betty Connors, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. A gathering for friends and family will held from 1-3pm on Sunday, September 22, 2013 at JACKSON LYTLE & LEWIS LIFE CELEBRATION CENTER. A memorial service will follow at 3pm with Pastor Orbie Estep officiating. Burial will occur at Ferncliff Cemetery at a later date. Condolences may be made to the family by visiting
