News Death Notice

PARKER, Robert Logan 79, of New Carlisle passed away unexpectedly Saturday, March 16, 2013 in Grandview Hospital. He was born in Richmond, VA on February 6, 1934, the son of Logan and Gladys Parker. Robert served his country in the US Navy during the Korean War. He retired from Local 162 as a plumber-pipe fitter with over 45 years of service. He was a member of the Living Word Church, Vandalia, where he was extremely active in the Royal Rangers as a group leader. In his spare time he loved to spend time with his family, especially his grandkids. Robert as preceded in death by his parents. Survivors include his wife of almost 42 years, Janie S. Parker, whom he married July 17, 1971; one daughter and son-in-law Ruth Ann (Michael) Crawford of Springfield; four sons William Logan Parker of Springfield, David Leo Parker of Dayton, Michael Keith (Andrea) Parker of New Carlisle and Sgt Christopher Charles Edward Parker, US Army of Fort Lee, VA; one sister Patricia (Gerald) DiGilio of Hansport, NJ; eleven grandchildren Ashley Parker, Kyle Wampler, Chase Wright, George Sutton, Katie Ogden' Sabrinna Parker, Shane Gray, Christopher Crawford, Shawn Parker, Steven Parker, and Skylar Parker; two great-grandchildren Anna Rhoer and Presleigh Wampler. Services to honor Robert will be Monday, March 25, 2013 at 11:00AM in the RICHARDS, RAFF & DUNBAR MEMORIAL HOME with visitation one hour prior to services.
