Roger A. RUNYAN


News Death Notice

RUNYAN, Roger A. 66, of Springfield passed away September 24, 2013 in his residence with his loving family by his side after a courageous battle with cancer. He was the most amazing man in the Runyan family. He was born March 2, 1947 in Springfield, the son of the late Samuel B. and Jacquelyn June (Holzmer) Runyan. Roger was a veteran of the United States Army and served our country proudly during the Vietnam War. He retired from International Harvester in 2010 with 45 years of services. Roger was a member of the VFW Post 3660 and enjoyed shopping with his wife and family. He was a man who would do anything for people. He will be sadly missed by everyone who knew and loved him. Survivors include his beloved wife of 44 years, Wanda C. (Storts) Runyan; one daughter, Melissa Runyan of Springfield; one son, Bill Storts of Parma, Ohio; three grandchildren, Ridge (Shari Peters) Runyan, Sara (Chris Lockhart) Kunce and Layne Runyan all of Springfield and two great grandchildren, Natalie and Little Sammy. A gathering of family and friend will be held on Thursday, September 26, 2013 from 6-8 p.m. in the LITTLETON & RUE FUNERAL HOME. Funeral services will be held on Friday at 1 p.m. in the funeral home.
