News Death Notice

JARVIS, William A. "Willie" 52, of South Charleston died Tuesday, September 24, 2013 in his residence. He was born in Springfield, Ohio on January 16, 1961, the son of Arthur E. and Marilyn L. (Smith) Jarvis. Willie served his country in the US Marine Corps. He enjoyed drawing, fishing, boating, hunting, horseshoes, and working in his gardens, having set out 78 tomato plants this past summer. He was a truck driver and also was a carpenter. He was preceded in death by his maternal and paternal grandparents. Survivors include his parents; sons William A. Jarvis II and Dillon R. Jarvis; siblings Scott (Susie) Jarvis, Lija (Bill) Eldridge, Jay (Lorre) Jarvis, Katie (Brian) Harvey, and Raymond (Lori) Jarvis; many aunts and uncles including Martha (Chuck) Herrnstein, Sharon (Bob) Lay, Lola Van Horn, and Naomi Ivans; several nieces, nephews, and cousins. Visitation will be Monday from 6-8 PM in the RICHARDS, RAFF & DUNBAR MEMORIAL HOME. A service to honor Willie will be Tuesday at 2:00 PM in the Memorial Home with Pastor Jacob Cultice of the Pitchin Community Church officiating. Burial to follow in Greenlawn Cemetery.
