He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, a 1959 graduate of Springfield High School, a 1964 graduate of The Ohio State University, a member of the New Carlisle Sportsman Club, Spring Run Farm Trout Club, and the American Single Shot Rifle Association. He also loved photography, shooting guns, playing several musical instruments, gardening (with his brother-in-law, George Sanford), and, most of all, fishing (with his father, his sons, his grandchildren, and all his Trout Club buddies). Hugh and Christine Lough, Springfield, and Joe and Tara Lough, Columbus, OH; four grandchildren, Jordan, Monica, Kara and Jackson; numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins, including Mary Ellen Satanek and Sally Tackett; and his faithful companion, Poacher. The family would like to recognize and thank all of the Nurses and Doctors at the Springfield Regional Hospital and the Ohio State University Hospitals who took such great care of Sam. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday in St. Joseph Church, with family receiving friends 1 ½ hours prior in the church, beginning at 9:30 a.m. Private committal will take place at a later date. Memorial donations may be made either to The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society at Donor Services, P.O.
