BRIGHAM, Chester Everette, Jr. 82, of Springfield, died at 7:42 P.M. Tuesday, December 4, 2012 in the Springfield Regional Medical Center. He was born September 4, 1930 in Springfield, a son of Clarence Walter Moore, Sr. and Blanche (Brigham) Kemp. Chester served his country during the Korean War, was a parachutist in the 11th Airborne Division (Angels), and was awarded a Purple Heart. He leaves to cherish his memory his loving wife, Jessie (Davenport) Brigham; his children, Sharon (Bruce) Crossley, Vincent Borden Brigham, Chester Brigham III, Mark Anthony Brigham, Gloria Davenport, Jackie (James) Powers, Phillip Borden, Gale (Jeff) Marshall, Terrie (Bugs) McMahon and Rosalind Massey, a great number of loving grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren; his brothers, Pastor William Bell of Dayton and Robert Gentry of Springfield; sisters, Joyce Johnson of Arlington, TX and Donna Bell of Springfield; sisters-in-law, Catherine (Fred) McCoy and Mary Davenport; brother-in-law, William Davenport, Sr., numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins; also, special friends, Yoshimitsu Kobayashi, Mike Henry, Ann Tilley and Clarence. He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Dr. Clarence Walter Moore Jr. and Jack D. Moore; brothers-in-law, John Davenport and Felton Davenport; and sister-in-law, Gertrude Watkins. Visitation will be from 12:00 noon until 1:00 P.M. Tuesday, December 11, 2012 in the Robert C. Henry Funeral Home where services will follow at 1:00 P.M. in the funeral home. Burial in Ferncliff Cemetery on Soldiers Mound. Arrangements provided by the Robert C. Henry Funeral Home.
