News Death Notice

LAUMANN, Dean H. 82, of South Charleston went to be with the Lord on Saturday, September 21, 2013 in Eaglewood Care Center. He was born in Westboro, MO on August 12, 1931, the son of Christopher and Mary (Steinhaus) Laumann. Dean served his country in the US Army during the Korean War. He retired from the City of DesMoines in the Parks Department with 26 years of service. He enjoyed collecting miniature toy tractors and just riding in the car looking at the scenery, especially the farm land. He found great joy watching his grandchildren grow. Dean was preceded in death by his parents; wife Peggy Carol (Hood) Laumann on Dec 6, 1997; sister Mary Underwood; and brother-in-law Jesse Pursell. Survivors include his daughter Carol (Charles) Wildman; son Joe Dean (Mona) Laumann; sister Martha Pursell; brother-in-law Olin Underwood; grandchildren Kimberly, Samuel, Melinda, and Simon Wildman; nieces Elaine Petersen and Cheryl Lorhan; and nephew Alan Pursell. A celebration to honor Dean will be Saturday, September 28, 2013 at 11:00 AM in the First Presbyterian Church, South Charleston with Rev. Dr. William Reisenweaver officiating. Visitation will begin one hour prior to services. Burial to follow in Greenlawn Cemetery, South Charleston Memorial contributions are requested to Steps to Your Dreams 6276 Plattsburg Rd South Charleston , Ohio 45368.
