Frieda (Vatter) GRUESER Obituary

News Death Notice

GRUESER, Frieda (Vatter) 87, died peacefully at the Springfield Masonic Community on Sunday, December 02, 2012. She was born on October 17, 1925 to the late Samuel and Lena (Rapp) Vatter. Frieda is preceded in death by her loving husband, Robert Grueser. She is survived by her three sons, Tom (Nancy) Grueser of Donnelsville, Jim (Tarra) Grueser of Cleveland, and John (Deb) Grueser, of Springfield; Grandchildren, Carrie, Nick, Sam, Alex, and Ben; a brother, William Vatter of Springfield; sister, Rosemarie Zehnder of Dayton; and several nieces and nephews. A lifelong resident of Springfield, she was the owner (retired) of the Corner Cupboard Crafts and was involved in numerous civic and community projects. She was an active member of St John's Church and was instrumental in founding the Rainbow Table providing a hot meal for those in need. Her love for Christmas and her extensive Santa Claus collection will always be remembered. Family to receive friends from 2-4 p.m. & 6-8 p.m. on Friday, December 7, 2012 at the JACKSON LYTLE & LEWIS FUNERAL HOME. Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, December 8, 2012 at 10:30 a.m. at the St. John's Lutheran Church with Rev. John Pollock officiating. Family to receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church. Burial will follow in the Ferncliff Cemetery. In lieu of flowers contributions can be made in Frieda's memory to the Miami Valley , 3797 Summit Glen Drive, Dayton, OH 45449. Condolences may be expressed to the family at www.jacksonlytle.com.
