News Death Notice
STATON, Harvey William 36 of Maurice, Louisiana formerly of Springfield, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, July 27, 2014 in his home. He was born on September 7, 1977 in Dayton, Ohio the son of Catherine L. Staton-House and Dr. Harvey Thomas Staton. William graduated from Springfield North High School in 1995 and enjoyed hiking and rock climbing at Glen Helen and spending time outdoors. He was a certified professional diver and was employed as an Oil Rig Surveyor for ten years with Fugro Chance. He is survived by his parents, Catherine of Centerville, Ohio, and Tom and Lois Staton of Springfield, two sisters and brothers-in-law: Jennifer (Falter) and Mike Bennett of Edgewood, Kentucky; and Erin (Falter) and Steve Smith of Upper Arlington, Ohio; nieces and nephews: Grace, Henry, and Isabelle Bennett; and Cole and Noah Smith; and numerous other family members. A memorial gathering of family and friends will be held on Friday, August 1, 2014 from 5-7 p.m. in the LITTLETON & RUE FUNERAL HOME. A memorial service will be held on Saturday at 2:00 p.m. in the First Presbyterian Church, 15 N. Chillicothe St., South Charleston, Ohio with the Reverend Dr. William Reisenweaver officiating. Friends may also call from 12-2:00 p.m. on Saturday prior to the service. Burial of his urn will follow the service in Rose Hill Cemetery.
