News Death Notice

WYANT-WOOD, Hope (Shank) 91 of Zephyrhills, Florida, formerly of Springfield, Ohio and Findlay, Ohio passed away Sunday, Nov. 24, 2013 with her husband and daughter at her side. She was a wonderful wife and mother and loving grandmother and will be greatly missed. She was born May 4, 1922 in Ottawa, Ohio and retired as a Lobby Attendant from Marathon Oil Company, Findlay, Ohio after 23 years of service. She lost her first husband, Richard after 61 years of marriage. After living single for several years, she met and married Kenneth Wood, who survives. In Zephyrhills she attended Community Chapel Church of God where she served as a Board Member and WCG member. She moved to Springfield, Ohio to be with her daughter and attended Hillside Church of God, but after meeting and marrying Kenn, they decided they didn't like the cold winters and moved back to sunny Florida. Hope spent many years volunteering at a Hospice House and in making items for cancer patients in Springfield, and in Zephyrhills. She is survived by her husband, Kenn and daughter, Saundra (Don) Bedingfield of Springfield, four grandchildren, Gail Rich, Shelley Szela, Sean Latham and Shannon Latham and 13 great-grandchildren. A daughter, Linda Latham and grandson, Bruce Bedingfield preceded her in death in 1985. She was also preceded in death by brothers, Glenn, Nolan and Doyle and a sister, Edith Smith. She has one living brother, Earl Shank who is very close to her. Donations in her memory may be made to Gulfside Hospice, Zephyrhills or Christian Women Connection, Hillside Church of God. A memorial service will be held At Hillside Church of God, 2021 Hillside Ave, Springfield, Ohio on December 7 at 1:00 pm.
