COPELAND, James E. "Bub" 83, of Springfield, died November 27, 2012 in his residence. He was born August 11, 1929 in Springfield, OH to Bernard and Lillian (Wild) Copeland. Jim was a 1946 graduate of Catholic Central High School and attended Xavier University. Jim retired from the sales and marketing department of SPECO Corporation and later owned and operated Serendipity Antiques. He was a longtime member of St. Teresa Catholic Church. He was also on the New York Giants Farm Team, a board member of the Springfield Urban League, and belonged to the Catholic Central Boosters and Friends of Bill W. Jim was a U.S. Army Veteran serving as an MP in Yokohama, Japan. Survivors include his wife, Gertrude A. (Welch); eight children and spouses, Lisa (Tom) Yannucci, Falls Church, VA, Rachael (Dewey) Arnold, Julie Brennan, Amy (Erhard) Eimer, Springfield, Andrew (Jenny) Copeland, Highland, CA, Mary Rita Shank, High Point, NC, Caroline Copeland, Lake Forest, CA and Tracy Presepe, Marietta, GA; 16 grandchildren, Teresa, Andrea, Tommy, Carrie, James, Danny, Tyler, Andy, Mark, Michelle, Katie, Molly, Taylor, Max, Carrie and Lisa; 3 great grandchildren, Will, Mannix and Abigail; two sisters, Peg (Gene) Langen and Dorothy Copeland; two brothers, Dick (Sharon) Copeland and Michael Copeland, Springfield; three sisters-in-law, Florence Copeland , Maryann Copeland and Barbara Copeland; one brother-in-law, William Rader; the mother of his children, Rita Copeland; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a sister, Maryanne Rader; and three brothers, Bernard, Robert and Thomas. Jim donated his body to the WSU Boonshoft School of Medicine. Jim's children will be hosting a visitation that will begin at 12:00 noon Sunday in the CONROY FUNERAL HOME with a Memorial Service to be held at 1:00 p.m. Memorial donations may be made to the .
