KAITIS, James M. 65, of Springfield, passed away peacefully in his home on July 17, 2014. He was born on September 17, 1948, the son of the late Richard and Molly Kaitis. After graduating from Greenon High School, he worked for Steel Products Engineering. "Jimmy K" as his work friends called him, retired after 34 years in the Air National Guard working in the AGE, Avionics, a Crew Chief and was a Maintenance Control Superintendent. He always volunteered to deploy with the jets and was a master mechanic and military leader. Jimmy was a faithful employee dedicating his life to his career; After he retired from the Springfield Base, he came back to work for Lockheed Martin as a contractor. He was a kind and generous person who would do anything for those he cared about and was very meticulous at everything he did. He was an avid Corvette lover owning 16 in his lifetime and recently purchasing his new Stingray just two months ago. Jimmy always had a special love for his dogs and made sure to cater to their every need. He is survived by his sister, Cathy Bethard, 2 nieces, 1 nephew and many close friends including those at the base. Arrangements in care of JACKSON LYTLE & LEWIS LIFE CELEBRATION CENTER.
