Janet R. DOBIE

Obituary Condolences

News Death Notice

DOBIE, Janet R. 69, of Springfield, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, November 15, 2012 in the Springfield Regional Medical Center. She was born on September 3, 1943 in Springfield, the daughter of Dale and Betty (Campbell) Ulery. Jan was a person that when you met her you became part of her long list of friends. She loved her family and her extended family very much. She was a person that if you needed help or just support she was there for you. She was a lady of class, not only in the way she handled herself but especially in the way she dressed, nothing out of place. Jan loved to travel and enjoyed being with family and friends during those trips. These trips included to NASCAR Races, Ohio State Buckeye bus trips, bowling, and trips to Destin, Florida with her family. She loved kids! Whenever she would see one while at stores she would always catch their eye and get them to smile at her. On our weekends at the river she would always make sure we had enough makings for smores and had a fresh batch of chocolate chip cookies and banana cake on hand. She loved being on the Ohio River boating and enjoyed water skiing. She liked trips to the boat club and enjoyed having people visit her. Jan was a mother, sister, wife, grandmother, great-grandmother, mother-in-law, stepmother, friend, and will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her deeply. She is survived by her husband of eleven years, Ed Dobie of Springfield, two daughters: Kim and Gus Speros of Beavercreek, and Missi and David Stamper of Fairborn; grandchildren: Nick (Olivia), Ashleigh, Brittani, Ciji, and August; great granddaughter, Raelin, sister, Brenda L. (Ulery) Schanher of Cincinnati, three brothers and sisters-in-law: Keith and Lucy Ulery of Pennsylvania, Phil Ulery of Florida, and David and Judy Ulery of Wisconsin; several nieces and nephews, step sons and daughters-in-law: Mike and Wendy Dobie and Scott and Bonnie Dobie of Springfield, and five step grandchildren: Heather, Nichole, Josh, Ryan, and Kaleigh; seven great grandchildren: Jacob, Kyler, Madison, Ellie, Burkley, Braden, and Adyan.
