CARTER, Jeffrey G. 48, of Pitchin, died unexpectedly Tuesday, October 9, 2012 in his residence. He was born in Biloxi, Mississippi on May 17, 1964, the son of Lloyd L. Carter and Carole L. (Heape) Carter Gall. Jeff was a dedicated son, father and grandfather and he loved spending time with his family and children. He was exceptional with his hands, from doing auto body work to construction, he was a true artist. He loved camping, fishing, living on a farm, and any kind of animal. Jeff will be remembered for his contagious sense of humor. He is survived by his mother, Carole L. Gall of Springfield; father, Lloyd L. Carter and his fiance', Stella Spaull of Melbourne, Australia; his partner and soul mate, Lisa Berry of South Charleston; five children, Paul (Amy) Voraphongphibul of Dallas, Georgia, Suzanne (Grant) Jacobs of Conway, Arkansas, Gracie Carter (Dace Maguire) of Toronto, Canada, Jeffrey L. Carter of Atlanta, Georgia, and Stephanie Ingram of Atlanta, Georgia; and six grandchildren, Taylor, Cameron, Avery, and Reece Chai, and Anna and Alyssa Mabry. Also surviving is a sister, Jenny (Sean E.) Hartman of Pitchin; two brothers, Craig S. Carter of Pitchin and Blaine D. (Robin) Carter of South Charleston; many nieces and nephews; former spouse and mother of his children, Debra Carter; and special friends, Alan and Carrie Noor. He was preceded in death by his step-father, Forrest Gall. A celebration of Jeff's life will be held at 3:00 p.m. Sunday in the LITTLETON & RUE FUNERAL HOME. A gathering of family and friends will be held one hour prior to the service. Following the service, a reception will begin at 4:30 p.m. at the Pitchin Fire Department. Jeff felt that it was important that his grandchildren attend college. To that end, the family requests that in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions be directed to the family to establish an educational trust.
