Obituary Condolences

News Death Notice

HUFFMAN, Loren (Hop) 47, died suddenly and unexpectedly March 17, 2013 in Indianapolis, Indiana. Born June 17, 1964 to Patricia (Huffman) Smith and Donald Huffman in Springfield, Ohio. He was a 1982 graduate of Greenon High School, and 2010 graduate of Pima Medical Institute in Tucson, Arizona. He was a long distance truck driver with Werner Trucking Company of Omaha, Nebraska. He loved being on the road traveling with his favorite co-pilot and companion, his dog "Who". Loren is survived by his mother, Patricia (Huffman) Smith of California, his favorite sister, Helena (Huffman) Chapp of Arizona, beautiful daughter Heather Huffman Ross and amazing son Ross Henry Huffman, both of Hilo, Hawaii. He leaves behind several childhood friends from the neighborhood including Kevin, Robin and his best friend of 40 years, Jim. He was preceded in death by his father Donald Huffman as well as both maternal and paternal grandparents. Loren had a tender heart and passion for fishing. It was not uncommon for Loren to take Ross out of school just to go fishing together. Loren developed a never ending grin of happiness and a love for Hawaii after traveling there last year to witness his daughter graduate from the University of Hawaii. Loren will make his final long distance trip in May, traveling to Hawaii with the immediate family of mother, sister and children to have his ashes scattered in the deep blue ocean off the coast of Kona, Hawaii so he can fish every day, all day. The family asks in lieu of flowers, donations be made in his name and memory to either www.woundedwarriorproject.org or Primaverva Mens Shelter, 200 E. Benson Hwy, Tucson, Arizona 85713 (520) 623-4300.
