News Death Notice

GOODBAR, Martha Pauline loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother, 89 of Pitchin, went to be with the Lord at 7:45 A.M., Monday, October 21, 2013 at Friends Care Community, Yellow Springs, Ohio. She was born in Fayette County, Ohio, on January 23, 1924 to Hershel Robert Dawes and Martha Viola (Jacobs) Dawes. She attended South Charleston United Methodist Church. Survivors include five children: Jerry (Sandra) Goodbar, of Springfield, Ohio; Jack (Jean) Goodbar of Enon, Ohio; Judy (Larry) Crisler of Springfield, Ohio; Jon (Sheryl) Goodbar, of Cedarville, Ohio with whom she had resided and Joe (Carol) Goodbar of Yellow Springs, Ohio; 13 grandchildren and spouses; and 33 great grandchildren; one sister-in-law Ruth (Bill) York of Hillsboro, Ohio and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Roy, 2 brothers; James Dawes and Max Dawes and son-in-law, John H. Campbell I. Visitation will be held at the Ingling Williams & Lewis funeral Home in South Charleston from 4:00-7:00 pm Thursday, October 24, 2013. Memorial services will be held on Friday, October 25, at 11:00 a.m. with a visitation one hour prior; Pastor Doug Thompson officiating with burial to follow in Fairview Cemetery, Jeffersonville, Ohio. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made to South Charleston United Methodist Church, Community Mercy Hospice, Church! of Park Slope or your mission project of choice.
