News Death Notice

YERIAN, Dr., Michael A. 64, of Springfield, passed away peacefully on Wednesday morning, September 25, 2013 at the Kobacker House in Columbus, Ohio. He was born on February 18, 1949 in Springfield and was the son of the late Marcus D. Yerian and Mary Catherine (Kotsanos) Yerian- Dixon. He graduated from Northeastern High School, class of 1967; The Ohio State University with a B.S. Degree in Zoology in 1971; and The Ohio State University College of Dentistry in 1975. He then served our country in the United States Navy Dental Corps for three years in the Philippines and also in New Orleans. He opened his dental practice in Springfield and practiced in the area for 35 years. Dr. Yerian was a member of the American and Ohio Dental Associations and a fifty year member of the First Lutheran Church. He was devoted to his patients, family and friends. He is survived by his sister and brother-in-law, Pamela and Dr. Robert D. Newcomb, his nephew Nicholas S. Newcomb all of Columbus, and several cousins: Harold Stevens, Maurice (Patricia) Stevens, Delores Arnold, Kathy Fent, and Mr. and Mrs. Richard Fearn. He was preceded in death by his parents. A gathering of family and friends will be held on Monday, September 30, 2013 from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. in the LITTLETON & RUE FUNERAL HOME. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday at 11 a.m. in the First Lutheran Church, 30 S. Wittenberg Ave. Springfield with Pastor Jim Christian officiating. Memorial contributions may be made to the Springfield Regional Cancer Center or First Lutheran Church.
