News Death Notice

STANAWAY, Virginia Louise (Woods) 92 of Springfield, went to be with her Lord on Friday, December 13, 2013, in Springfield Regional Medical Center. Virginia was born on June 2, 1921 to William and Lucille (Westfall) Woods in Piqua, Ohio. She was preceded in death, by her parents, by her husband of 61years Jack Stanaway, her great grandson, Tyler Skavaril, her son-in-law, Stephen Ra tliff, brother, Bill Woods, sister Betty Knouff, brother-in-laws Merrill Davis, Piqua, Ohio, Gene McAlexander, Sidney, Ohio. Virginia was a proud, wife, mother, grandmother and great­grandmother. Her family was everything to her. Virginia was a wonderful cook and homemaker. She was active in PTA as her children grew up. She enjoyed bowling, playing cards and bingo. Virginia never met a stranger and was known for her outgoing personality. She was funny and many would say, "she was quite a pistol!" Her love of life was reflected by her bright colored clothing and outgoing personality. Virginia was a member of Fellowship Christian Church where she made many friends. She enjoyed and faithfully attended the Saturday night services. Virginia is survived by her daughter, Jayne Ratliff, who took such good care of her, her son, James (Diana) Stanaway, grandchildren, Melissa (Mike) Skavaril all of Springfield, Tim Rewitzer of Columbus, Ohio, Amanda (Dave) Dolfi of Dublin, Ohio. Great-grandchildren, Jacklyn Skavaril, Brooke Dolfi and Sage Dolfi, sisters, Maxine Davis of Piqua, Ohio and Almeda McAlexander of Sidney, Ohio, sister-in-law, Donna Atkin s of Grove City, Ohio and many nieces and nephews. A gathering of family and friends will be held on Tuesday, December 17, 2013 from 5-7:00 p.m. in the LITTLETON & RUE FUNERAL HOME where services will be held on Wednesday at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Rick Ives officiating.
