Walter Harold DILLON Obituary

News Death Notice

DILLON, Walter Harold 89 of Springfield went home to be with the Lord on April 17, 2914 at the Springfield Masonic Communities. He was born in Clark County, Ohio on May 13, 1924 the son of Walter C. and Edith M. Dillon. Walter proudly served his country in the US Navy during World War II in the South Pacific serving on four different ships. He was a member of Maiden Lane Church of God and VFW Post 1031. In his spare time he enjoyed umpiring softball. Walter had retired from Maiden Lane Church of God with many years of faithful service. He was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters and four brothers. Survivors include his wife of 67 years Louise I. Dillon whom he married Nov 12,1946; sister and brother-in-law Vergie (Loyd) Crabtree; seven nieces; numerous grand & great-grand nieces and nephews; and a host of friends at Maiden Lane Church of God. A memorial service to honor Walter will be Saturday at 11:00AM in the RICHARDS, RAFF & DUNBAR MEMORIAL HOME with Pastor Mark Martin officiating. A gathering will be one hour prior to services. Burial will be at a later date in Vale Cemetery. Memorial contributions are requested to the Maiden Lane Church of God Building Fund 1201 Maiden Lane Springfield, Ohio 45504.
