News Death Notice

OBERLY, Lonnie Ray age 69 of Springfield, passed away Tuesday, April 10, 2012 at his residence. He was born December 21, 1942 in South Charleston, the son of the late Ray, Jr. & Marjorie (Kimball) Oberly. He was an employee of Navistar with 39 years of service, a member of the VFW 3660, Union Club, Machinist's, Masonic Lodge of South Charleston, lifetime H.O.G. member, avid hunter and outdoorsman, he loved riding his Harley and worked part time at National Trail Park Service. Survivors include his wife Connie (Taylor) Oberly, his son Douglas R. Oberly of Urbana, sister Linda S. Monroe (Jerry) of Springfield, grandson Ryan Douglas Oberly, great grandson Matthew Ryan, and by a niece Cassie Monroe. Informal gathering of family and friends will be held on Saturday, April 14, 2012 from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at the JONES KENNEY ZECHMAN FUNERAL HOME, Springfield. If desired memorial contributions may be made to the Wounded Warriors or Honor Flight in Lonnie's memory. A memorial service will take place at the VFW 3660 at a later time.
