News Death Notice
MCCOY, Charles Lewis "Charlie" 62, of Springfield, passed away Saturday, April 28, 2012 in his residence. He was born November 24, 1949 in Springfield, OH the son of Chas Thurman Kell and Margaret Louise (Biles) Landess. Charlie enjoyed motorcycles, camping and was a gun enthusiast. He was a former member of the Plains Drifters M.C. He is survived by the love of his life and best friend of 38 years, Robin "Bird" McCoy; son, Vincent Edward (Carol) McCoy of Springfield; grandchildren, Danielle Renee and Carson James McCoy; brother, Thomas Victor (Barbara) Lee of Medway, OH; as well as 3 nephews. Charlie is preceded in death by his parents and grandparents. Following Charlie's wishes his body will be cremated. A memorial service will be held at 7 p.m. on Thursday, May 3, 2012 in the VERNON FUNERAL HOME, Urbana. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 5-7 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to the German Township Fire Department, 3940 Lawrenceville Drive, Springfield, OH 45504.
