News Death Notice
ERRETT, Donald P. 77, of Springfield, passed away peacefully in his home on Monday afternoon, June 25, 2012. He was born in Terre Haute, Ohio on December 31, 1934, the son of the late John Hibbert and Mary (Baker) Errett. Don graduated from Northwestern High School in 1952 and served his country in the U.S. Army in the armored division. He retired as a CNC Operator from Airetool Industries and the Elliott Company. He had a deep love of music and played bass guitar for many private parties. He was an avid radio controlled airplane builder and flier. Don is survived by his wife of 55 years, Charlotte (Fox) Errett; daughter, Deborah Fox of Newark, Delaware; son, Daniel (Kim) Errett of Springfield; grandchildren, Brian and Jason Errett, Dannette Lehman, Laura (Vinnie) Guglielmo, and Nicole Errett; great granddaughter, Athena Guglielmo; three sisters, Eileen Rice, Norma Wade and Helen (Bill) Smith; special friends, Rod and Judy Robinson and their sons; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Nancy Errett and a sister, Mary Mitchell. Don's funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday in the LITTLETON & RUE FUNERAL HOME with Rev. Walter Mock officiating. A gathering of family and friends will be held one hour prior to the service. Burial will be in Terre Haute Cemetery.
