WINTERS, Joanne I. Joanne called Medway home for 60 years and at the age of 82, left for a better place on February 1, 2014. She was born August 4, 1931, in Dayton, Ohio, the daughter of the late John and Kathryn Keechle. She met her husband William R. Winters, who preceded her in death, at a square dance, at the Wright-Pat Civilian Club. The two were married in Clifton, Ohio, September 12, 1952. Joanne was very active in many organizations, twice Worthy Matron of Home City Chapter #258 OES & Advisor of the New Carlisle Rainbow Assembly where she was awarded the Grand Cross. She chaperoned band camps & trips during the 1980's for Tecumseh's Marching Band. But her most important job if asked, housewife and mother. She is survived by her sister, Sandra Kay Scherer, son and daughter-in-law, John W. & Kathy Winters of Centerville, and son, Scott A. Winters of Miamisburg. Two grandsons, Matthew & wife Sarah Winters with great grand children Mason & Avery, Mark Winters & fiancée Karen Warn-Uzzel, and granddaughter Lauren Winters. She will miss her many dear friends. A gathering of family and friends will be held at 6-8 PM Thursday February 6, 2014 at the TROSTEL, CHAPMAN, DUNBAR & FRALEY FUNERAL HOME, New Carlisle, Ohio, with Eastern Star services at 7:30 PM. Funeral services will be held at 10 AM on Friday at the funeral home. Burial will follow in Medway Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the .
