News Death Notice

SILLAMAN, Marian Eleanor (Welch) Age 87 of Medway passed away Friday, March 14, 2014 at Emeritus at Fox Run in Fairborn, Ohio. Born April 20, 1926 in Frost, Ohio in Athens County and the daughter of Raymond and Lillie (Radenbach) Welch, she worked at Wright-Patterson AFB from 1943-1952. Miss Ellie as she was affectionately known, was an active member of the Medway United Methodist Church for over 50 years and sang in the choir. She also served with the Medlake Lions auxiliary for over 25 years. She was a devoted and loving wife and mother whose fine cooking and award winning pies were well known. Those who knew her enjoyed her company, her smile and compassionate nature. She is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, John B., Jr. & Rebecca J. Sillaman of Centerville, Ohio, Ken B. & Jo Anne Sillaman of Fairborn, Ohio; two daughters and son-in-law, Susan S. (Sillaman) & Timothy Brockman of Dunkirk, Maryland, Linda D. (Sillaman) & Anthony J. Brandenburg of New Carlisle, Ohio; ten grandchildren; Max & Zachary Brockman, Leigh Ann and Clair Brandenburg, Kelsey and Brad Chaney, J. B. III & Nicole (Chine), Coleman & Shelby (McAfee), Jacob, Ashley & Amanda Sillaman. She is preceded in death by her husband of 52 years John Benton Sillaman, her parents and three brothers, John Maurice who died as a POW in WW II, Neil Martin, Norman Clair Welch; two sisters, Gaynelle (Welch) Graham, the Plains, Ohio; Marjorie (Welch) Sandusky, Columbus, Ohio. Visitation will be 5-8 PM Wednesday, March 19, 2014 at the TROSTEL, CHAPMAN, DUNBAR & FRALEY FUNERAL HOME, New Carlisle, Ohio. Funeral services will be 11:00 AM Thursday in the funeral home.
