News Death Notice

BALL, Frank W. 93, of South Charleston, passed away Friday evening, June 27, 2014 in Heartland of Springfield following a brief illness. He was born in Morgan County, Ohio on August 20, 1920, the son of the late John and Nora (Waymer) Ball. Frank served his country in the U.S. Army for 42 months during WWII. He retired from International Harvester, Springfield following 30 years of service and later worked at the Tremont City Landfill. He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Dorothy (Adams) Ball; two children, Belinda (Lynn) Montgomery of Springfield and Dennis (Terri) Ball of Tremont City; three grandchildren, John Near, Darcy Fernandez and Frank Ball; seven great grandchildren, Kyle, Korie and Brice Near, Benjamin, Aubrey and Christopher Fernandez, and Jayden Ball; one sister, Lucille Hooper of Glouster, Ohio; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Frank was preceded in death by four brothers, Seymour G, Virgil E., Emery A., and Errett Ball and a grandson, Robert Near.
