Robert KIBLINGER Obituary

News Death Notice

KIBLINGER, Robert "Bob" Earl 72, of Springfield died July 6, 2014 at his home following a short but strong battle with cancer. Born on December 4, 1941. Graduated from Northwestern High School in 1959 where he played basketball. B.A. in History of Government and Sociology from Wilmington College of Ohio in 1963 earning his tuition in the Randall Work-Study program, completed post undergraduate work at Wittenberg University and was awarded a MBA from Wright State University in 1976. Worked for Wright Patterson Air Force Base for 32 years as a Procurement Analyst and Business Strategist where he received numerous awards for excellence, and authored a book and a number of guides in his field of expertise used by the government for many years. During his tenure, he was an Honor Grad in the Defense Systems Management College. While quite successful in his professional life, he felt his greatest accomplishments were a 52-year marriage, the success of his children and grandchildren, and a proud soccer and softball coach for youth girls for 15 years. He also took great pride in managing the family farm. Robert is survived by his wife Dianne (Higginbotham); children Valerie and Tom Martin of Oregonia, Ohio, Heidi and Bryan Abbott of Spring Hill, KS, Ryan and Jessica Kiblinger of Springfield, Ohio, and Nikki and Steve Irwin of Miamisburg, Ohio; grandchildren Brandon (Lindsay) Abbott, Tori Kiblinger, Janelle Abbott, Leah Abbott, Mallory Kiblinger, Miles Irwin, Mike McMahon and Alexa Kiblinger. He is preceded in death by parents Elwood "Woody" "Kibby" Kiblinger and Mary Brown Kiblinger. A gathering of family and friends will be held on Wednesday, July 9, 2014 from 11:30 am to 1:00 pm in the LITTLETON & RUE FUNERAL HOME. A celebration of Bob's life will begin at 1:00 pm in the funeral home with Pastor Russell Dickerson officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made to Community Mercy Hospice, 444 W.
