BETTY M. BANDY Obituary

News Death Notice

BANDY, BETTY M. 79, of Springfield, was called home to the Lord on Monday July 14, 2014 in her residence. She was born May 25, 1935 in Springfield, Ohio, the daughter of Ward and Anna McFarland. Betty was a very active member of Maiden Lane Church of God where she sang in the choir for over sixty years, work at the church day-care, sang in the Living Christmas Tree and active with Joy Circle. She graduated from Northwestern High School in the Class of 1953, after school Betty went on to marry Charles D. Bandy on November 3, 1956. Two children blessed this union, Ward Matthew and Crystal Ann. They were also blessed with a foster child Carol Evans Johnson. Betty was preceded in death by her parents; father-in-law and mother-in-law, James and Mary Bandy, brothers-in-law, Lester Wilsey and Daniel Woodhouse. She is survived by her husband of fifty-seven years, Charles; son, Ward (Christy) Bandy; daughter, Crystal Bowen; grandchildren, Maggie Bowen, Zane, Morgan and Madyson Bandy, Austin Pfeifer, Katie and Maggie Paulsen; sisters, Lu Wilsey and Delores Woodhouse; brother-in-law, James Bandy, as well as many nieces, nephews and friends. A gathering of family and friends will be held Friday from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the Maiden Lane Church of God, 1201 Maiden Lane, where funeral services will follow at 1 p.m. with Pastor Mark Martin and Pastor Dan Fiorini officiating. Burial will follow in Glen Haven Memorial Gardens.
