News Death Notice

LEFFEL, Jesse Franklin 94, of Springfield passed away peacefully into the arms of our Lord on Tuesday morning, August 12, 2014 in Forest Glen Health Campus. He was born February 3, 1920 in Springfield, Ohio, the son of Edward Franklin and Clara Belle (Pope) Leffel. Jesse retired from the Boston Store with 25 years of service. He was a lifelong member of Westside Christian Community. Jesse enjoyed berry picking, nature, playing dominos and the game sorry. He will be sadly missed by his beloved family and friends. Survivors include one brother, Paul Leffel of Fairborn, Ohio; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, great-nieces, great-nephews, special friends and two nieces who were also his caregivers, Susan (John) Groeschel of Springfield and Jeanne (Tom) Wikoff of Springfield. He was preceded in death by his parents; one sister, Ruth Wildermuth and eight brothers, Pearl, Gale, Forest, Bill, Glen, Phil, Ray and Vic Leffel. The family wishes to express their deepest gratitude to Dr. Sally Abbott, Andrew Krofft PA, nurse Debbie Mills, the staff at Family Practice Associates, director Mike Lacy, the staff at Forest Glen Health Campus and Community Mercy Hospice. A gathering of family and friends will be held on Friday, August 15, 2014 from 9:30 am to 10:30 am in the LITTLETON & RUE FUNERAL HOME. Funeral services will begin at 10:30 am in the funeral home with Pastor Costy Saba officiating. Burial will follow in Ferncliff Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made to Community Mercy Hospice, 444 W. Harding Road, Springfield, Ohio 45504 or Forest Glen Health Campus Activity Fund, 2150 Montego Drive, Springfield, Ohio 45503. You may express condolences to the family at www.littletonandrue.com
