News Death Notice

MARTINDALE, Phyllis Joanne 78, formerly of Cedarville, passed away on March 29, 2011, at the Masonic Community, Springfield. She was born May 20, 1932 in Springfield, Ohio the daughter of Cecil and Loleita (Schneider) Arthur. She was a graduate of Moorefield High School and a longtime employee of Greene Memorial Hospital. Phyllis was a member of the Cedarville United Methodist Church, Kensington Club and Aldora Chapter Eastern Star. She is survived by her husband of 60 years, Robert Max Martindale; four sons, Greg and Gail Martindale of Cedarville, Jeff and Mila Martindale of Springfield, Brent Martindale of Springfield and Kent Martindale of Tarpon Springs, Florida; seven grandchildren, Brandi (James) Filson, Benjamin Martindale, Nathan (Chelsey) Martindale, Rachel (David) Raney, Rebekah, Blaire and Dain Martindale; one sister, Marilyn Deards (Ken Simmons) of Brookings, Oregon and one brother, Jack Arthur of Springfield. She was preceded in death by her parents and an infant son, Terry. Services will be held on Saturday, April 2, 2011 at 12 p.m. at Cedarville United Methodist Church, with Pastor Brian Farr officiating. Friends may call Saturday from 10 a.m. - 12 p.m. at the church. Burial will follow in Massie Creek Cemetery, Cedarville. Memorial contributions may be made in memory of Phyllis to the Cedarville United Methodist Church, 47 W. Chillicothe St., Cedarville, Ohio 45314. Condolences may be expressed to the family at www.jacksonlytle.com.

I am so sorry to hear about the passing of Mrs. Martindale. I met her at the Masonic when my dad was in the rehab wing. We talked many times and did crafts together on occasion. She was a very sweet lady, and she will be greatly missed.
