News Death Notice

AUCKERMAN, Carl B. 86, of Springfield, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Thursday, August 11, 2011. Carl was born on November 27, 1924, the son of the late Clarence and Glenna Auckerman. He is survived by his loving wife of 63 years, Virginia Auckerman; sons and daughters-in-law, Carl W. and Joy Auckerman, Randall D. and Saundra Auckerman and Mark W. and Susan Auckerman; grandchildren, Sarah Downs, Tyler Downs, Jesse Auckerman, Debra Robinson, Carl W. Auckerman Jr. and Rachael Wagner; great-grandchildren, Lane and Logan Robinson, Caroline Auckerman, Russell Wagner and Rosemary Wagner; and brother and sister-in-law, Adrian and Wanda Auckerman. He is preceded in death by his parents; brothers, John W., Daniel C., William R. and David D. Auckerman; and sisters, Doris M. Kohn and Elizabeth J. O'Brien. Carl was a charter member at Faith in Christ Lutheran Church. He served in the US Army in WWII in the 400th Field Artillery Battalion and retired from the US Air Force Reserve. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge # 421 in Yellow Springs and a Past Master at the Pharaoh's Lodge in St. Paris. He retired from the Elliott Company and was an active member of the Boy Scouts for many years. Visitation will be held on Sunday, August 14, 2011 from 5-8 p.m. at the JACKSON LYTLE & LEWIS FUNERAL HOME-Springfield, with a celebration of Carl's life on Monday, August 15, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. at the Faith in Christ Lutheran Church. Pastor Jeffrey Lee officiating. Entombment to follow at Rose Hill Burial Park. Condolences may be expressed to the family at www.jacksonlytle.com. He will be greatly missed by all who loved him.
