FOGARTY, John F., Sr. 90, of Springfield, passed away August 8, 2012 in his residence. He was born July 24, 1922 in Springfield, Ohio the son of James C. and Marie T. (Leary) Fogarty. He had worked as a timekeeper for International Harvester for 23 years retiring in 1984. John was a 1940 graduate of Catholic Central High School, a member of St. Bernard Catholic Church, VFW Post #1031 and a United States Navy veteran having served in WWII. He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Pauline (Shay); 11 children and spouses, Mary (Page) McGirr, Ann Oroszi, John (Linda) Fogarty, Jr., Dan (Kathleen) Fogarty, Tim (Linda) Fogarty, Tom (Susan) Fogarty, Dennis Fogarty, Michael Fogarty, Brian (Carolyn) Fogarty, Pat (fiancee, Lori) Fogarty and Phil (Becky) Fogarty; 29 grandchildren; 19 great grandchildren; a sister Josephine Shay and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by two brothers, William (Dorothea) Fogarty and James (Agnes) Fogarty and two sisters, Mary (Godfrey) Kunkel and Greta (James) Glynn; and brothers in law, Robert, Daniel and Clarence Shay. Friends may call from 5 to 7 p.m. on Friday, August 10, 2012 in the CONROY FUNERAL HOME. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday [TODAY] in St. Bernard Catholic Church. Burial will follow in St. Bernard Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to St. Bernard Church.
