News Death Notice
HEADLEY, Adolph I. Adolph I. Headley, 86, died October 11, 2012 in Mesa, Arizona. He was born in Springfield on September 16, 1926, the son of Elmer L. and Lila E. (Duval) Headley. Mr. Headley fought in WW II as a paratrooper in the Army-Air Force. He married Donna Rose (Bennington) Headley; they were to celebrate their 67th anniversary this month. Mr. Headley retired in 1991 from the Clark County Engineer's Department. He was an active member of the Moose, Elks, and Eagles lodges. As a young man, he played on U.S. Army all-star baseball teams and was an avid golfer, bowler, and billiards player throughout his life. He is survived by his wife, Donna; son, Stephen L. Headley and his wife, Nancy Carne Headley; son, Robert I. Headley and his wife, Susan Grove Headley; three grand-children, Caitlin E. Headley; Paul M. Headley and his wife, Daniela Diaz-Headley; Jeffrey A. Headley and his wife, Carrie Johnston Headley; one great-grandson, Stephen Daniel Headley; and a brother, Daniel. His parents, four sisters, and three brothers preceded him in death. Mr. Headley found great joy in his grandchildren and great-grandson; the entire family was with him shortly before his death. His memorial service, with military honors, was held on October 23, 2012 in Arizona. Requiescat in Pace.
