News Death Notice

HUNTER, Jean E. aged 76 of Springfield, daughter of Leroy Gay and Gladys Walker Gay, peacefully went home to be with the Lord on Friday, December 6, 2013. She was born on November 17, 1937 in Springfield, and resided in Springfield her entire life. She retired from WPAFB after 30 years of service, and later worked for Elderly United. Mrs. Hunter was an active member of Greater Grace Temple in Springfield and dearly loved the Lord. She is survived by her sons, Steven Hunter of Cincinnati, Ohio, James Hunter of Springfield, Douglas Hunter of San Diego, CA, and daughters Sheryl Fields and Gail Whatley, both of San Diego, CA. She also leaves behind a brother, Elwood (Butch) Gay of Springfield, sisters Marilyn Beasley of Orlando, FL, and Shirley Green and Gladys Moore both of Springfield, and a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews, friends, her church family, and special friend Ms. Myrna Ventress. She was proceeded in death by her parents and a brother, Larry (Skippy) Gay. At the request of Mrs. Hunter, her body will be donated to the Department of Anatomy at Wright State University.
