William SMITH

1937 - 2017

SMITH, William A. USN-R 79, of Enon, passed away on Monday, January 2, 2017. He was born on December 13, 1937 in Dayton, Ohio, the son of the late Fred Smith and the late Hazel (Pennington) Lockhard. Bill served our country in the United States Navy for 20 years. He retired from General Motors after 25+ years. He was a member of Fairborn Masonic Home Lodge No. 0764 and a 32? Scottish Rite Mason in the Valley of Dayton. Bill is survived by his children, Dusty Smith, Summerville, South Carolina, Tina (Tim) Haerr of Enon and Gabriella DeVere of Garrettsville, Ohio; four grandchildren Stephanie Smith, Stacy Haerr, Spencer Haerr, and William L. (Julianna) Smith; one great grandchild, Justin Carver; a brother, James (Sandy) Wallen of Clearwater, Florida; and two sisters, Linda (Andy) Norton of Woodstock, Georgia and Brenda (Tony) Bystrek of Cartersville, Georgia; and many beloved nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his wife, Donna L. Smith in 2013 and his son Mark E. Smith in 2012. Friends may call on Friday, January 6, 2017 from 5:00-8:00 p.m. with Masonic Lodge services at 7:30 p.m. Services will be held on Saturday, January 7, 2017 at 10:30 a.m. at the LITTLETON & RUE FUNERAL HOME. Burial will be in Glen Haven Memorial Gardens.
