PRIETO, Larry E. 56, of Tampa, passed away Monday, Dec. 24, 2012, and was preceded in death by his parents, Octavio and Mae Prieto and brother, Tony Prieto. Larry is survived by his wife of 36 years, Pam Prieto; son, Scott Prieto; brother, Jerry Prieto; sister, Elaine Prieto; sister-in-laws, Gayla Cason, Mylisa Prieto and Drucy Fernandez; brother-in-law, Larry Cason and many loved nieces, nephews and other family members. Larry was a career firefighter with the City of Tampa Fire Rescue who advanced to the rank of Captain and was a paramedic, training officer and part of the HASMAT team, Rope Rescue Team and Marine Fire Division. Larry also served honorably in the US Navy prior to his career with the City of Tampa Fire Rescue. A graveside memorial service will be conducted 11 am, Tuesday, Jan. 8, 2013 in Lutz Cemetery, 19100 North US Highway 41 and 5th Ave NE, Lutz. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that contributions be made to Moffitt Cancer Center Bone Marrow Transplant Unit or to the City of Tampa Firefighters Museum.
