GODFREY, Helga L.  
passed away from this world on June 26, 2016 to be with our Heavenly Father in Heaven. Helga fought a short, hard battle with melanoma cancer. Helga was born to Elise and Fritz Dammert on December 14, 1935. Helga was married to Kenneth E. Godfrey "Kenny" who recently celebrated 57 years of marriage. Kenny met and married Helga at Pforzheim, Germany while stationed there in the U.S. Air Force. Helga is survived by her husband, Kenny; one son, David of Brooksville; two granddaughters, Alyssa and Amber of Spring Hill; sisters, Edith Kruck of Pforzheim, Germany and Inge Bume of Anaheim, CA. She was preceded in death by her parents, Elise and Fritz Dammert and sister, Elvira Schmull. Helga was a hardworking and industrious individual who excelled in every task she undertook. Helga trained and worked as a watchmaker until her marriage to Kenny. She worked at several base exchanges and post exchanges, both overseas and stateside. At one point, Helga was an interpreter for the U.S. Army and she volunteered teaching German to soldiers who were transferring to Germany from Fort Carson, CO. Helga retired from Target stores as a retail supervisor. Helga's family would like to thank all the wonderful people at the Moffitt Cancer Center in Tampa and all the wonderful caregivers at the Brooksville Hospice Center, especially Debbie who was not only a friend but a sister in Christ. A celebration of life will be held on July 2 at 11:00 am at Community Baptist Church, 13132 Citrus Way, Brooksville. All are welcome to attend and celebrate. GRICE, Kenneth  
son of Marion and Audry Grice, was a life-long resident of Avon Park, FL. He loved family gatherings, western movies, and drinking coffee with friends. He was an owner/operator truck driver. He worked in the harvesting industry, sod fields, and built roads throughout the state of Florida. Kenny was a proud Marine veteran, having served in Japan and the Philippine Islands during the 1950's. Kenny is survived by his loving family: Clara, his wife of 55 years; a son, Steve Grice (Mary Jo); and daughter, Melissa Sager (Brent), all of Avon Park, FL; three grandchildren, Kevin Grice, Jordan Sager, and Will Sager. He is preceded in passing by his sister, Joyce Brewer of Tennessee. He is also survived by his sisters-in-law, Diane Hawkins (Al) and Melanie Smith (Ricky) of Avon Park, and Donna Stevens (Roger) of Nevada. Visitation for family and friends will be held at 2:30 p.m. on Wednesday, June 29, 2016 at the First Baptist Church in Avon Park with a Memorial Service to follow at 3:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to St. Jude's Children's Hospital.

GUCKIN, Diane Louise  
70, of Largo, passed away on Monday, June 27, 2016. She was a beloved daughter, sister, aunt, and friend. She was born May 30, 1946, to Robert A. Quimby and Anna (Borghesani) Brown in Attleboro, MA. Diane graduated from North Attleboro High School in North Attleboro, MA and was a graduate of Bryant University in Lincoln, RI. Diane and her recently deceased husband, Jim, traveled around America for many years in an RV seeing this beautiful country of ours. Diane was very active in her community of Four Seasons Estates, where she was the Treasurer for many years and was currently working in the Association office. Diane volunteered her time wherever and whenever she was needed. Diane is survived by her mother, Anna L. Brown; siblings, Carolyn F. Plante (Jim Belanger), Denise A. Daily (John), Doreen M. Brown-Wade (Daniel Regan), Robert A. Quimby; stepchildren, Judith L. Guckin-Albert, Jeffrey M. Guckin, Jay R. Guckin; nieces, Michelle L. Edwards, Suzanne M. Kilic, Tanya Gilchrist; nephews, Kyle Daily, Erik Quimby, Evan Quimby; five grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and many extended family members and friends. She was preceded in death by her father, Robert A. Quimby; stepfather, David M. Brown; brother, Nelson F. Brown; and her beloved husband of 30 years, James R. Guckin. A gathering will be held on Friday, July 1, 10:00 am, until the service at 11:00 am, at Anderson-McQueen Family Tribute Center, 2201 Dr. MLK, Jr. St. N., St. Petersburg 33704. A Prayer Vigil will be held on Thursday, June 30, 7:00 pm, at Sorensen Funeral Home, 3180 30th Ave. N., St. Petersburg 33713. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday, July 1, 11:00 am, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 4661 82nd Ave. N., Pinellas Park, with interment to follow at Calvary Catholic Cemetery.
