Ashby Mitchell MOODY

MOODY, Ashby Mitchell 92, of Tampa, died Saturday, May 11, 2013. A lifelong resident, he attended Plant High School, and graduated from the University of Florida in 1941 where he was an ATO. Ashby worked at Tampa Marine Corporation prior to opening Grandma's Place Antiques in South Tampa. He was a certified appraiser for antiques, silver and fine jewelry and appraised at the University of Tampa once a month. As well, he was a Glider Pilot over Germany in WWII, was a member of Ye Mystic Krewe of Gasparilla, Tampa Yacht and Country Club and St. John's Episcopal Church. He was preceded in death by his wife, Emily Winston Moody; brother, J.B. Moody; and sister, Eunice Moody Rinaldi. He is survived by sister, Helen Moody Stanton; sister-in-law, Polly Moody; a number of nieces and nephews. A memorial service was held at Canterbury Tower on May 14, 2013.
