Dennis H. HENEGAR

HENEGAR, Dennis H. 78, of Clearwater, passed away on April 17, 2013 at Morton Plant Hospital. He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Jacqueline; son, Richard Duquette. He was preceded in death by his sons, Joe Duquette and Bryan Henegar. Surviving family includes; sister, Elizabeth Khan of Clearwater; cousins, Harold Bailey of Alabama, Gene Bailey of Georgia, Carolyn Smith of Georgia; and many nieces and nephews. Dennis was born Sept. 7, 1934 in Keener, Alabama. He served in the U.S. Navy and the U.S. Navy Reserve. He moved to Florida in 1958 to join the family business, Douglas Manufacturing, in Clearwater. He then bought the business in 1964 and held an Aluminum Specialty Contractors and Glaziers License. He retired in 2000. He served on many committees; code enforcement with the City of Clearwater and also served on committees with the Pinellas County Licensing Board. He was a former member of the Clearwater Evening Sertoma Club, Touchdown Club and was a founding father of the Aluminum Association of Florida. He served as the President of the AAF for 7 years and was an active member on many committees for over 30 years; he is still currently an Honorary Member. He was an avid collector of Lionel Trains and enjoyed boating and fishing in his free time. Dennis was a big man with an even bigger heart. He always had a story or joke for everyone he met. He will be greatly missed by his family, employees and friends.
