JERNIGAN, Douglas M. 48, of Tampa, passed away Oct. 22, 2012. A native and lifelong resident of Tampa, Doug loved the outdoors and was an avid fisherman. He loved his wife, children, and his family and will be dearly missed by all who knew him. Doug is survived by his loving wife, Tara Ott Jernigan; son, Douglas Alan Jernigan; daughter, Joylynn Renee Thompson; father, Mel (Jackie) Herndon; mother, Patricia (Marvin) Higgins; and many loving brothers, sisters, & other loving family members & friends. A Memorial Visitation for family and friends will be held on Saturday afternoon, Oct. 27, from 1-3 pm at the chapel of JGR Funeral Home, 6718 North Armenia Ave, Tampa.
