Edward John "Papa" KELLY

KELLY, Edward John "Papa" 88, went to Heaven on March 30, 2013, where he was greeted by his best friend and wife, Dera Lee. Born June 29, 1924, Ed, the eldest of nine, was raised in Providence, RI. Ed, who was quite the adventurer, proudly served in the U.S. Navy during WW II and in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean conflict. Ed, Dera Lee, and their children moved from Atlanta, GA to Clearwater in 1971 to enjoy the "good life". Ed enjoyed the beach, fishing, sports, gardening, reading and most of all, spending time with his family. Ed was a devout Catholic. He is survived by his daughter, Tama Kelly Malinski (Tom); son, Tim Kelly; grandchildren, Alexa, Jacob and Justin Kelly; siblings, Helen, Cathy, Joe and George and many nieces and nephews. Ed was a wonderful and kind father, Papa and brother. His happy, fun-loving spirit will be deeply missed by all who knew him, especially by his devoted family. Visitation will be held on Friday, April 5, 2013 from 6-8 pm at Sylvan Abbey Funeral Home, 2853 Sunset Point Road, Clearwater. A funeral mass will be celebrated on April 6 at 11 am at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, 700 San Salvador Dr., Dunedin.
