Festus Edwin "Ed" WALLACE

WALLACE, Festus Edwin "Ed" 83, a resident of Tampa and formerly of Logan, OH, passed away Sept. 7, 2013. Ed served proudly in the United States Army for 25 years. He was a veteran of the Vietnam War and earned many commendations during his years in service including the Legion of Merit, Meritorious Service Medal, Bronze Star, Gallantry Cross with Silver Star, Master Parachute Badge, Air Medal with 2d Oak Leaf Cluster, 2 Overseas Service Bars, National Defense Service Medal with 1st Oak Leaf Cluster, & the Army Commendation Medal, among others. Ed was preceded in death by his son, David Wallace; his two brothers and a sister. He is survived by his wife of over 60 years, Sandra Wallace; two daughters, Debbie Eckhardt, and her husband, Randy, and Diana Mazur, and her husband, Mark; five grandchildren, Heather Shanklin, and her husband, Jeff, Jessica Storey, and her husband, Damian, Andrea Mazur, David Mazur and Sarah Mazur; four great-grandchildren, Kelley, Madingly, Luke and Harper; his sister, Dorothy Conner; sister-in-law, Patti Parkins and two brothers-in-law, Earl Parkins and Jim Vorhees. Visitation will be at the Loyless Funeral Home in Land O'Lakes, on Tuesday, Sept. 10th, from 1-3 pm. Burial will be at the Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell Wednesday, Sept. 11th, 10 am.
