ALLEN, Jessie Mae Homegoing Celebration for Mrs. Jessie Mae Allen of Tampa who passed away, Saturday, Jan. 25, 2014, will be held Monday, Feb. 3, 10 am at First Baptist Church of Progress Village, 8722 Progress Blvd., Dr. Samuel Maxwell, pastor officiating. Interment will be in Florida National Cemetery, Bushnell. Jessie was born April 15, 1952 in Macon, GA to the late, Jimmy Lee Jordan Sr. and Pauline Wilcox Jordan. She graduated from Peter G. Appling High School in Macon, GA. She received her bachelor's and master's degree in nursing. Jessie was a member of First Baptist Church of Progress Village, where she volunteered in the HealthCare Ministry, Women's Ministry and Sunday morning bible study. Jessie enjoyed sewing and was an avid reader and loved spending time with her family. She was employed with Brandon Regional Hospital in the Quality Assurance Department. She was preceded in death by her parents, sister, Ella Mae Jordan and brother, Jimmy Jordan, Jr. She leaves to cherish her precious memory, her dedicated husband of 41 years, Jerry Allen; son, Derrick Allen (Veaundriss); granddaughters, Jairah and Jhalani Allen; brother, Jimmy Jordan (Patricia); best friend, Marilyn Booze of Macon, GA; and a host of other relatives and sorrowing friends who will dearly miss her. The visitation will be held on Sunday, Feb. 2nd from 2-4 pm at Aikens Funeral Home. The friends meet on Monday at the church for the homegoing service.
