John J. "Jack" MYHRE

MYHRE, John J. "Jack" resident of Tampa since 1968, passed away on April 28, 2013, after a brief illness. Born April 15, 1924 in St. Paul, MN, he attended the University of Minnesota & Pan American University, majoring in Aeronautical Engineering. He was a veteran of World War II, having served as a Navy Pilot in the Pacific Theater of the war ,and later spent most of his life in the Naval Reserves where he retired as a Commander. He was a member of the Military Officers Association of America (MOAA) and the 25th Flight Order of Daedalians at MacDill Air Force Base. John also worked as an Inspector for the U.S. Department of Agriculture. He is survived by his loving wife of 63 years, Elsie Opp, who he married on July 2, 1949; his daughter, Mary Fidler (Steven L.); sons, Steven J. Myhre and John J. Myhre; sister, Mary Moore; and three grandchildren, Ashley Fidler, Sarah and Anna Myhre. A visitation will be on Friday, May 17th, from 10-10:30 am, with a service at 10:30 am at Stowers Funeral Home, 410 West Brandon Blvd, Brandon.
